What We Believe and Teach

  • There is one God, eternally preexistent as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; that is to say, we believe in the Trinity of God. This one God is love and deeply loves mankind whom He has created. He demonstrates His love for all by giving His Son to die for us that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life (Rom. 5:8; Jn. 3:16).
  • Each original word of Scripture in both the Old and New Testaments was given by inspiration of God, is relevant to believers today, and must be interpreted in context, its original significance, and in light of the New Covenant (2 Pet. 1:19-21; 2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 3:15-16).
  • Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified, died, and bodily rose from the dead to eternally redeem those who would believe in Him and confess Him as the Lord. He lived on earth fully man and fully God, and He is the only mediator between man and God. The work of the cross of Christ was God’s complete work upon which no improvement can be made by man (Rom. 10:9-10; Heb. 9:12; 1 Tim. 2:5; Jn. 19:30; Col. 2:9-10; Heb. 10:14; Gal. 3:3).
  • The commandments of the New Covenant are that we believe in the name of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another. Believing in His Son and loving one another, are our highest expressions of love for God (1 Jn. 3:23; Mt. 25:40; Jn. 14:21; Jn. 21:15).
  • We are saved by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ alone, initially (at salvation), continually (in this life), and eventually (at His return). While believers are created for good works, they are not saved by them (Eph. 2:8-10; Titus 3:4-6).
  • Our behavior is a fruit of our imputed right-standing with God. Since we are freed from sin and made holy, blameless, and righteous by faith, we are motivated to live a holy life. When we fall short, the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin (Rom. 5:17; Rom. 6:1-14; Gal. 5:22; Col. 1:21-23; Rom. 6:22; 1 Jn. 2:1; 1 Jn. 1:7).
  • At the moment of salvation, Jesus Christ lives inside of believers by faith, and they are seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. All believers dwell continually in God’s presence, and His presence dwells continually in them because of the blood of Christ, and they are full sons of God by faith in Jesus Christ. (Col. 1:27; Eph. 2:6; Heb. 4:14-16; Gal. 3:26).
  • All of the gifts and ministry gifts in operation in the early church are available to believers today and are to be manifested “decently and in order” by grace through faith alone (Acts 2:38-39; Gal. 3:2-5; Rom. 11:29).
  • We believe in the final resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the former to eternal life and latter to eternal judgment; (Rev. 20:11-15; Jn. 3:17-18)
  • We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ; the Rapture of the Church (1 Th. 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15:50-55).
